AMSS VISITS THE TWENOT 2007 SHOW (Holland)

It was with great pleasure that we accepted the invitation of the Dutch Armour Association to visit their show at Eindhoven. One of our aims was putting figure painting into the spotlight of our Dutch friends which are mostly occupied with building armoured models and diorama's.

In fact, in Holland, figure painting is a rather unknown branch of modeling. For our Dutch collegues, figures are something you put in a vehicle or next to a tank to create some life and athmosphere. As a result these figures are all in the smaller 1/35 or 1/32 scale. So they do not contemplate to display figures on their own. For us this was a fantastic opportunity to try and change that. To succeed in our mission we got room for a clubstand where we could demonstrate our hobby, and our members put some of their figures in the competition too.

Gino Poppe - wellknown in the hobby - and Luc De Kinder of AMSS at the clubstand.
Luc likes exotic figures and at the moment is working on a Japanese Geisha ...

Rob Linssen (sitting), one of our Dutch AMSS members. This time disguised in one of the Twenot boys.
Rob loves building armoured models and painting figures alike ...

Another photo of the AMMS club display: Gino accompanied by his faithfull wife Rita, and Marc Van Megroot, another Dutch AMSS member ...

Ramir Hereygers, our beloved AMSS president (middle) talking to Gilbert Van Wuytswinckel, secretary of AMSS ...

Next to miniature models there were also some real vehicles to be seen ...
